The minimum tariff set by the Tourism Authority of Bhutan in USD 200 per night if traveling in a group of 4 or more people. The rates can be higher, depending upon the nature of services desired. The rate is the same for both cultural tours and treks. Smaller groups have to pay an additional surcharge.

Of the total amount you pay, about 35 % goes to the government, which is used to fund schools, hospitals and other development activities.
