Bhutan
Located in the heart of the Himalayas, Bhutan is a landlocked country surrounded by mountains from the east, west and north. Surrounded by Tibet from the north and India from the rest, Bhutan with an area of 47,000sq kilometers is often compared to Switzerland in terms of size and topography.
The southern plains starting at about 50 meters above the sea level give rise to the some of the most awesome peaks, well over 7,300 meters. Measuring only about 150 kilometers north to south and about 300 kilometers from east to west, this small tract of land, one of the most rugged terrains in the world frames one of the world’s richest vegetations.
